How Much Does a Podcast Studio Cost?

July 12, 2026 · WhereToPodcast · 1 min read

Podcast studio pricing usually starts with an hourly room rate, but the final price depends on what the session includes. A simple audio-only room may cost much less than a staffed multicamera production with editing and social clips.

What the hourly rate may include

Before comparing prices, check whether the rate includes an engineer, microphones, cameras, lighting, remote-guest software, file delivery, and setup time. Two studios with the same hourly price can deliver very different experiences.

Common add-ons

Editing, livestreaming, thumbnails, short social clips, teleprompters, and rush delivery are often separate. Ask whether sales tax, same-day charges, after-hours rates, or minimum booking lengths apply. A two-hour minimum can matter more than a lower advertised hourly rate.

Audio-only versus video

Audio-only sessions are normally the least expensive. A single-camera recording adds lighting and video handling. Multicamera production costs more because it requires additional cameras, monitoring, storage, and often more post-production.

How to compare studios fairly

Build the same sample booking at each studio: the same duration, number of speakers, camera count, engineering help, and deliverables. Compare the complete checkout total rather than the headline rate.

Questions to ask before booking

The best value is the studio that removes uncertainty and gives you the production support your show actually needs. Use WhereToPodcast to compare services, capacity, reviews, and live booking options before choosing.
