For podcasters

What is WhereToPodcast?

WhereToPodcast is a directory and booking platform for podcast recording studios. You can search studios on a map, compare their spaces, gear, services and prices, read reviews, and — at participating studios — book and pay for a session online in a couple of minutes.

How do I find a studio near me?

Use the search map on the homepage, browse by city from the “podcast studios by city” page, or tap “Near me” to sort by distance. You can filter by services, equipment, price and even by a specific date and time when you need the room.

Does it cost anything to use the site?

No. Browsing, searching and booking are free for podcasters — you only pay the studio’s own session price. We don’t add a booking fee on top of what the studio charges.

Do I need an account to book?

You can browse without one. When you book a session we’ll ask you to sign in so we can send your confirmation, let you reschedule, and keep your booking history in one place. Some studios also offer a free 15-minute tour, which needs an account too.

How does booking and payment work?

Pick a space, choose a date and time, add a package and any extras, and pay by card. You’ll see the full price update in real time before you confirm. Payments are processed securely by Stripe and go to the studio — your card details never touch our servers. Some studios use “request to book,” where the owner approves your request before your card is charged.

Can I reschedule or cancel a booking?

Yes — manage it from your bookings dashboard. Each studio sets its own cancellation policy, which is shown before you book, and any refund is returned to your card or as studio credit according to that policy.

The time I want is already taken — what can I do?

Join the studio’s waitlist for that day and we’ll email you the moment a slot frees up. You can set a time-of-day preference (morning, afternoon or evening) so you only hear about openings that suit you.

What are prepaid hours, gift cards and studio credit?

Many studios sell prepaid hour bundles and gift cards, and some give store credit or loyalty rewards. Any credit or prepaid hours you hold are applied automatically at checkout, so you don’t have to do anything extra.

How do reviews work?

Reviews come from people who’ve used the studios, and a “Verified booking” badge marks reviews left by guests who booked through WhereToPodcast. Reviews are moderated before they appear to keep them genuine and on-topic.

Which cities and countries do you cover?

We list studios across many cities in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Germany, Mexico and Australia, and we’re adding more all the time. Browse the “podcast studios by city” page to see everywhere we cover.

For studio owners

How do I list my studio?

Listing is free. Claim your studio if it’s already in our directory, or submit it from scratch in a few minutes. If your account email matches your studio’s website domain, your claim is approved instantly.

What does it cost, and how does commission work?

A directory listing and the full booking system are free. We only take a commission on sessions booked online — never on tips or sales tax, and never on bookings you take outside the site. Commission can be as low as 2.5% on our top plan. See the “List your studio” page for the full plan comparison.

How and when do I get paid?

Guests pay through Stripe straight into your own Stripe account — you’re the merchant of record, and WhereToPodcast never holds your money. Each session’s earnings release automatically about three days after the session, with payouts going out daily.

Do I control my own prices and policies?

Completely. You set your hourly rates, packages, add-ons, minimum booking lengths, after-hours pricing, your cancellation policy, and whether sessions book instantly or need your approval.

Can I keep using my own website and calendar?

Yes. Embed your live booking calendar on your own site with one line of code, and sync two-way with Google Calendar — or import an Apple/Outlook calendar — so you’re never double-booked across platforms.
